Job Description

Okanogan Behavioral HealthCare currently has a position opening for a Medical Records Clerk.  Duties include:

  • Creates and maintains electronic records of OBHC clients;
  • Prepares correspondence and outgoing mail including e-mail and faxes;
  • Ensures copies of correspondence or other printed materials are scanned and kept on file;
  • Reviews medical records for completeness, assembles records into standard order and files records electronically in designated areas according to applicable alphabetic filing systems;
  • Responds to requests for information from files according to established policies and procedures;
  • Compiles statistical data as requested;
  • Posts progress notes and other treatment data to records;
  • Scans materials or copies records, and examines materials for legibility;
  • Selects and packages files for movement, transfer and permanent storage;
  • Ensures records meet or exceed WAC and contractual record compliance;
  • Provides back-up coverage in reception as needed;
  • Maintains regular and predictable work attendance;

Qualified applicant must have excellent grammar and communication skills, be proficient with computers and other technology, be highly flexible and able to multi-task, and possess excellent customer service skills. Candidate must also possess a high degree of ethics and an ability to strictly maintain confidential information. 

Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Prefer one year certificate from college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum starting wage is $18.70 per hour.
